Build Skills, Make an Impact

Join Porchlight Community Services for internships and volunteer positions that drive lasting change!

 

Whether a student is eager for practical experience or someone passionate about making a difference, we offer both paid and unpaid opportunities to develop skills in food rescue and program management.

 

With past collaborations with UCSD College Corps Fellowships, K16 Border Region Talent Pipeline, and local high schools, we've hosted interns and volunteers for 3 months to a year, focusing on sustainability, community building, and reducing food waste.

Social Media Internship

Paid Social Media Internship 

Gain hands-on experience creating graphics, videos, and social media content for a nonprofit food rescue and community grocery program. Must have prior social media experience, work independently, and take initiative.

150 hours  ~ $3,000 stipend

Food Rescue Coordinator

Food Rescue Coordinator

Coordinate grocery donation pickups, manage volunteers, and support community grocery distribution events for a nonprofit food rescue program. Help reduce food waste while ensuring families have fair access to rescued food.

15–20 hours/week ~ $20–$25/hour
