Why No Empty Plates?
Thanksgiving is centered around food: familiar dishes, family traditions, and time together at the table. But preparing a holiday meal adds to the grocery bill.
When a household is already balancing food costs with rent, utilities, medical expenses, and other bills, the turkey and sides may be more than the budget can stretch to cover.
Food allergies and other dietary needs can make planning harder, too. Suitable options may be harder to find or cost more. Plant-based choices should have a place at the table as well.
